Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Park Sang-woo visited Rwanda, Africa, to discuss the participation of Korean companies in new airport and new city development projects with local government officials.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) on April 14, Park visited Rwanda on April 11-12 as a presidential envoy for the Korea-Africa Summit.

The visit was aimed at successfully hosting the June 4-5 Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul and strengthening construction and infrastructure cooperation in Africa with Rwanda as a bridgehead.

Park met with Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente on April 12, during which he requested President Paul Kagame's participation in the Korea-Africa Summit.

During the meeting with Prime Minister Edouard and the previous day's meeting with Infrastructure Minister Jimmy Gasore, the Rwandan side requested the active interest and participation of the Korean government and companies in the Kigali Green City (50,000 square meters as a pilot project), the Bugesera New Airport and Hinterland Urban Development Project, and the construction of 310,000 affordable housing units.

Minister Park agreed to actively share Korea's experience in laws and systems for smooth housing supply with Rwanda, support Rwanda's housing city development projects through dispatching joint public-private experts, and strengthen cooperation using policy funds.
