The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) announced on July 19 that it has agreed to increase the number of flights between Korea and the Czech Republic from the current four to seven times a week. 

The Czech Republic is home to more than 100 Korean companies in various sectors, including automobiles and semiconductors. 

Prague is a popular tourist destination for Koreans, and the airline sector has been the foundation for enhancing friendly cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of direct flights in 2004. 

As part of the industrial cooperation package, the MOLIT actively supported Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's selection as the preferred bidder for a new nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic by holding early aviation talks in consultation with the Czech aviation authorities. 

Since 1998, the two countries have shared passenger and cargo flights four times a week, and through the aviation talks, it was decided to increase the number of flights between the two countries to seven times a week, making it possible to significantly increase the number of scheduled flights between the two countries for the first time in 26 years, providing an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as technology, economy, and culture.
