On May 1-7, the festival “Boysun Bahori” (Baysun Spring), the long-awaited holiday of the renewal of nature, national traditions and folklore will be held in the picturesque Baysun district Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of Uzbekistan and guests who will arrive from different parts of the world will demonstrate their folk art and unique traditions at this festival.

The festival, which glorifies national values and rich cultural heritage, will appear this year in a completely different form, corresponding to the new Uzbekistan. Priceless pearls of our cultural heritage have always nourished our people with spiritual food. Our wise ancestors sang of eternal values such as kindness, humanism, and spiritual beauty.

Held every two years, the festival demonstrates not only samples of the national cultural heritage, but also introduces the folklore and intangible cultural wealth of the peoples of the world. This good initiative contributes to the preservation, development, and popularization of priceless samples of the fine arts of the nation, further increasing the interest of the younger generation in national folklore.

The revival at the initiative of the President of the country of the “Boysun Bahori” festival, which was held in the first years of independence, and was forgotten later, the creation of bakhshi art schools in the regions – all this demonstrates the great attention of the state to the preservation and development of folk art. Holding the festival itself in Baysun also has its deep meaning. In 2001, UNESCO included this beautiful mountain village, which has managed to preserve the spiritual-cultural heritage of its ancestors for centuries, on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The Baysun district is actively preparing for the festival. Particular attention is paid to ensuring that, not limited to just demonstrating Uzbek ancient art, national traditions, and customs, creating favorable conditions for future guests, organizing the provision of high-quality services and acquaintance with tourist sites whose history goes back to the distant past. To hold the festival in a new spirit and at a high level, hotels, a large stage, an amphitheater, ethno-sports grounds, infrastructure facilities are being built, and yurts are being installed in the national style.
