Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok met with Mongolian Ambassador to Korea Sukhbold Sukhee in the provincial building on March 20 to discuss ways to promote friendly exchanges for mutual prosperity.

“Mongolia is a country with vast territory, abundant mineral resources and green energy resources, and we look forward to exchanges in various fields of economy and trade, education, culture and tourism,” Gov. Kim said.

He went on to introduce various international events held in Jeonnam and the cultural industries of the province, calling for interest.

Major international events include the 2025 Jeonnam International Ink Biennale (August-October), the Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo (October), the International Agricultural Expo (October), and the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo (September-October 2026).

In response, Mongolian Ambassador to Korea Sukhbold Sukhee said, “The friendly relations between Mongolia and Jeollanam-do have begun, and we will strive for cooperation and exchanges between the two regions in various fields.”

Jeollanam-do has been exchanging with Mongolia through the provincial council, provincial education department, and provincial university, and plans to expand cooperation in various fields such as economy, culture, and tourism.
