UNJournal Jon Lee | The 27th World Peace Art Exhibition 2024 has completed the first and second rounds of judging. The overall grand prize (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award) went to Kang Moa (Folk Painting), and the category grand prizes (Seoul Mayor's Award and Chairman's Award) went to Cho Kyung-sun (Folk Painting), Kim Young-ok (Western Painting), Joo Eun-young (Western Painting), and Oh Yoon-hee (Korean Painting) and Cho Jin-won (Calligraphy). They will receive a certificate and a purchase cash prize.
The 550 selected works out of 1,250 entries will be exhibited from August 21 to 26, 2024, in a special exhibition hall on the basement floor of Insa-dong Maru Art Center in Seoul.
Artists selected for the exhibition must submit their works to the World Peace Art Exhibition Hall on the basement floor of the Maru Art Center from 1 to 4 p.m. on August 20.
This year's exhibition showcased a wide range of works by artists from around the world on the theme of peace and harmony, and was judged fairly and according to strict standards by prestigious judges from the art world.
Several winning works, including the overall grand prize and the grand prizes in each category, were recognized for their high artistic value and message of peace.
“The exhibition is a valuable reminder of the importance of peace and the potential of art to bring the world together. We look forward to welcoming many visitors to see the various works with messages of peace and feel the artists' passion for creating,” said Chairman Damwha Lee Jon-young of Diplomacy Journal.
Chairman Lee congratulated all the artists selected for the 27th World Peace Art Competition and asked them to continue to contribute to spreading the value of peace through their artistic activities.
The winners can be checked on the World Peace Art Exhibition website, wpae.co.kr, and the artworks must be delivered one by one to the basement floor of the Maru Art Center in Insa-dong from 1 to 4 p.m. on August 21.
At the award ceremony on Aug. 22, foreign ambassadors will be invited to present the awards, and the winners will receive not only the overall grand prize, but also grand prizes, ochae prizes, and best prizes, special prizes, and samchae prizes in every sector, and the rest of the winners will receive awards by mail.
The works will be taken out from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on August 27, and the works that are not picked up will be taken out by a courier company with COD (collect on delivery) payment.
